FISSION is the latest project from Andreas Hedlund, a.k.a. Vintersorg, who is a well known name amongst metal fans through his self-titled Folk Metal cult band and former band OTYG, and Benny Hägglund, a.k.a. the live drummer for VINTERSORG.  Since the band's birth in 2000, both musicians have been working hard to concoct a unique mix of aggressive riffs and catchy, yet complex, melody lines.   Their debut release, Crater, abounds with uncompromising compositions, Vintersorg's unmistakable voice, and a powerful sound.  Crater is "in-your-face" Thrash Metal from one of the genre's V.I.P.s, who has managed to deliver yet another interesting first release.
