Sinamore

Not far from the infamous Hamina, where the influence of the Russian conquest remains a prevalent part of the archipelago's history and the old picturesque fishermen´s villages color the landscape belonging to the land of the thousand lakes, SINAMORE makes their home in "the ghettos" of Summa City. The childhood friends, Mikko Heikkilä (vocals/guitar), Jarno Uski (bass) and Miika Hostikka (drums), though hidden away in the easternmost border of Europe, dreamed at a young age of reaching rock'n roll stardom.
They asked their parents to buy them instruments so that they could become huge rock´n roll heroes like W.A.S.P. and Metallica.—Tommi
With the addition of Tommi Muhli as a second guitarist in the spring 2002, the band, who had been recording their third demo, gathered new momentum. With a total of 5 recorded demos, two recording contracts, one dissolved, one full-length album left unreleased, the Finnish Rock Championships 2003 semifinal placing, compilation CDs, band-of-the-month titles, and of course live shows, SINAMORE was ready to join the ranks of international recording artists when the opportunity to sign with NAPALM RECORDS arose.

I´ve only been hearing good things about the label and I´m going forward with very positive thoughts. I hope that with a label such as Napalm Records, we can reach many new fans of melodic metal. I also hope to play more live shows and maybe get a chance to visit other countries. —Tommi

SINAMORE continuously works to achieve the right balance. Their music revolves around the perfect mix of beautiful melodies combined with dark yet rocking metal riffs. This seems to be the basis of the band, whose music is written in its entirety by Mikko. The arrangements are then worked on by the entire band, as they relentlessly search to find the right elements with which to color the final composition.

The most important thing that has happened to us during the course of the years is that we´ve in a way found ourselves as a band and also found the musical path we want to follow and represent. —Tommi

SINAMORE's debut, A New Day is scheduled for a 27 Jan 2006 release. The album can be best described as sad, bittersweet, biting, dark, and melancholic--perhaps drawing its influences from the sullen yet hopeful Finnish persona. If you are looking for a comparison for SINAMORE, place them somewhere between H.I.M. and Sentenced, for this band also inspires through their self-contained writing style and the irrefutable charm of their sombre vocalist. Undoubtedly, Gothic Rock has new rising star patiently looming on the Finnish horizon!
