2006
DIGNITY was formed by drummer Roland Navratil and keyboardist Frank Pitters in the fall of 2006. After releasing five studio albums and one live album with the Austrian band Edenbridge, Roland parted ways with his colleagues to embark on a new musical journey. Martin Mayr and John Boy Bastard, who had played together in the Invictus soon completed the DIGNITY line up and they quickly began working on new material that would end up on their winter demos of 2006.

2007
In April, the band began selecting the number of songs to include on their forthcoming album “Project Destiny”. In addition, Dignity set out to find a vocalist powerful and versatile enough to do the new tracks justice. In May, the band entered WildOneStudio, Vienna to record drums, bass, and guitars. During the recordings, DIGNITY tried out numerous vocalists in vain, as none of them were able to live up to the band’s high standards.

By the end of the summer Martin Mayr had completed his degree in guitar studies and was able to turn all of his attention to the band, which hired Columbian artist Felipe Machado to design the artwork for “Project Destiny”.

In October, the band finally found their vocalist in Swedish singer Jake E. He immediately began working on the lyrics and vocal lines, while Frank Pitters worked to perfect the keyboard arrangements.

2008
In early February, Jake arrived in Vienna to record his vocal tracks. By the end of the month, Roland Navratil and Frank Pitters traveled to Sweden to meet with Jonas Kjellgren, who would mix “Project Destiny” at Black Lounge Studios (Scar Symmetry, Sonic Syndicate). The finishing touches were provided for by Mika Jussila, who mastered the songs at the legendary Finnvox Studio.

The Austrian / Swedish formation DIGNITY show us   on their debut album how classic melodic hard rock should sound.  Powerful vocals, sweeping hooklines, catchy refrains, and classic riffs form the foundation of "Project Destiny".  Leading the charge is Swedish vocalist Jake E.'s demonstrative performance, enriching each song with a wide spectrum of expression.  This musical achievement filled with innumerable details is crowned by the mastering work of the legendary Finnvox studios. The tracks are technically brilliant, yet remain easy to follow at all times. Columbian artist Felipe Machado gives "Project Destiny" its final graphic touch by impressively catching the album's atmosphere on paper. A must-have for fans of Europe and TNT, although DIGNITY never loses sight of following their own path.
