| ARTAS |
|
In 2006, something special happened in a Viennese rehearsal basement, which quickly spread like wildfire. But what else can one expect from a band that shares the right chemistry among its individual members and the desire give it their all? Far away from all clichés and expectations, Artas creates honest music and the means to let off steam for everybody involved. When hitting the stage, the five members have an “in-your-face” approach that can only guarantee severe whiplash, when performing the music they love. This energy and approach not only convinced the fans, but also the jury of the "Metalchamp 2007" battle of the bands, as well as Napalm Records. After less than 10 performances, Artas signed a worldwide recording contract to face a load of work and take the first steps into the unknown. The debut "The Healing" was released in the fall of 2008. The resistance now moves to the next level. A little over 2 years since Artas released their explosive debut, they return ready to unleash yet another musical monster. The underground rebels remain uncompromising, hell-bent on continuing on their chosen path. "Riotology" is a true modern metal beast that surprises with a highly volatile mix of thundering double bass, aggressive riffs, and melodic interludes. The disparate vocal styles (clean, screams, growls) present on the album support the multifaceted instrumental fraction and are perfect for the multilingual lyrics that include German, English, Spanish, and French. Jacob Hansen’s (Hatesphere, Heaven Shall Burn, Neaera,) mix and mastering give the tracks on "Riotology" their superb sound, while the somber artwork of Jan Yrlund (Tyr, Korpiklaani, and Impaled Nazarene,) perfectly captures the album's character. Artas is undoubtedly back! And with the modern metal anthems found on "Riotology", they will soon recruit a mighty legion of brothers-in-arms for their coming rebellion. Artas is: Obimahan Ismahil - Vocals Hannes Koller – Vocals & Guitar Sahid Al Atmaah – Guitar Radek Karpienko – Bass Christoph Grabner - Drums |
