Once upon a time, our hero Grand Master Jaldaboath set out to travel the nether-regions in search of brother knights with whom to follow the path of the knightly troubadour. Thus it was that he came across the mighty Sir Bodrick, a knight ever alert for the call to action and ready with his jousting jocks.
Fortune also paved the way for a chance meeting with The Mad Monk, found residing in a priory and trying to pervert the ways of the local Christian folk. So it came to be that a new musical fellowship was formed and rightfully named after the Grand Master himself.
A mighty fortress was built (Castle Rhydian), and therein its bowels, an unholy dark lodge was fashioned to allow for marathon music scribing and medieval jiggery-pokery. The brotherhood quickly formed into the finest “hammering heraldic metal” battalion yet known!
An utterly pompous epic of small proportions came to be fashioned, and the limited edition EP “Hark the Herald” was quietly released exclusively through Death to Music productions in 2008. The EP spawned a cult of followers and attracted the attention of various labels.
And thus it was that this battle unit did parley and agree terms with Austria’s mighty Napalm Records.
In the year 2010, “The Rise of the Heraldic Beasts”, a full missal of hymns detailing the adventures of this minstrel-metal trio, was completed to be made available throughout Christendom and beyond.
JALDABOATH combines an intoxicating mix of metal, Middle Ages, and Monty Python, while remaining fresh and distinguishing itself from the medieval rock sounds of already established bands. Catchy melodies, galloping drums, exquisitely sarcastic and humorous lyrics, as well as Sir Jaldaboath's unmistakable clean vocal style makes the revelry impossible to resist. With anthems such as “Bash the Bishop”, "Seek the Grail", "Hark the Herald" and “Axe Wielding Nuns”, JALDABOATH bring us the long-forgotten artistry of the medieval jig and in doing so, have most certainly forged a style of metal unbeknownst to man or beast!
