GLITTERTIND Landkjenning

2nd Album from the Norwegian Folk Metal Band. Concept Album about the Norway's Christianization With "Landkjenning" (in English "Landing"), Glittertind commemorates the history and poetry of the Norwegian homeland. Traditional melodies and Nordic sounds determine the overall picture of an album that nevertheless finds repeated diversity in its placement of drums and fast riffs. The folkloric sounds delivered by authentic instruments of old skillfully merge with modern elements to create catchy, detail-oriented works. The clean and powerful vocals, sung in Norwegian, give "Landkjenning" a unique touch. The very profound lyrical concept revolves around Norway's Christianization and transports the listener 100 years back into the past, to a time where one had to decide between the new religion and the traditional old ways. Kris Verwimp's (Arkona, Crimfall, Moonsorrow) artistic know-how has impressively captured this lyrical theme graphically. Glittertind's latest album is an authentic and primal piece of music that will undoubtedly capture the hearts of Folk Metal fans worldwide.

Wow! Das Album ist einfach nur sagenhaft. Da der Vorgänger mir garnicht gefällt, bin ich doch etwas überrascht. Dieses Album ist das zur Zeit beste was ich an Folk Musik oder Folk Metal gehört habe. Ruhige, berauschende, schnelle, folkige Parts. Alles ist vorhanden. Die Texte sind meist in Norwegisch doch manches kann man sich denken was es bedeutet. Der Gesang von dem ich bei manch ruhigem Part Gänsehaut bekomme, gefällt mir am besten. Der Sound ist gut. Die Gitarren auf den Vorgängern wiederholen sich oft, doch das ist hier nicht mehr der Fall. Sie sind nicht unbedingt sehr ansprechend aber in Verbindung mit Folk Elementen und dem Gesang ist es perfekt. Da braucht man keine komplizierten Gitarrensoli. Es heißt ja auch Folk Metal! Leider haben mir 2 Titel nicht ganz so gut gefallen. Die sind finde ich einfach zu ruhig ausgefallen und klingen etwas langweilig. Das wären "Mot myrke vetteren" und "Overmate full av nade". Ansonsten ist das Album einfach nur geil. Ich habe sehr viel Spaß wenn ich die Cd höre. Anspieltipps: Landkjenning, Gar min eigen veg, Longships and Mead, Glittertind
